Sochi 2014: American luger Kate Hansen causes internet stir with pre-race dance routine to soundtrack of megastar Beyonce

While some prefer to listen to music to relax before competition USA luger Kate Hansen warms up for every run by dancing to American popstar Beyonce.
The 21-year-old is currently in 10th place after two runs down the track and her unusual warm up has been attracting a lot of attention.
It seems the California girl is determined to enjoy herself and listens to only one women before sliding.

“Strictly Beyonce. My girl Bey!,” she said in a post-race interview.
“She just gets me fierce and I get stoked. I’ve got good mojo on, so it’s how I roll.
“Honestly, I’m in my own world. It doesn’t matter who’s staring, I’m still going to dance.”
With American teammate Erin Hamlin in third at the half way point Hansen wants to see her step onto the podium.
“It would be unfreaking believable if Erin medalled. It would really give US luge a boost of confidence,” she added.

The Brigham Young University student, who is a keen surfer, says she would rather be world surf champion than Olympic champion and is having a ball.
“It’s an absolute dream, I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had sliding,” she said of the Sochi experience.
