Arsene Wenger has called on Arsenal fans to get behind his team as they look to bounce back from Saturday’s thrashing at Chelsea against Swansea City.

The Gunners suffered a major blow to their title hopes as Jose Mourinho’s men ran riot and secured a 6-0 triumph at Stamford Bridge.

This team is an absolute credit to the club with their attitude

Wenger’s men will now look to return to winning ways against the Swans on Tuesday before they host Manchester City at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

And the Frenchman is hoping that the Emirates faithful will be in full voice when the Gunners take on the Welsh side.

“The crowd knows that it is a very important game and I’m confident that the crowd will be behind our team and support our team,” said Wenger.

“I think the crowd acknowledged since the start of the season, that the team’s attitude was absolutely spot-on, that they have given absolutely everything.

“You cannot fault this team for not wanting to do well. If we missed a game on Saturday I believe that overall, over the season, in the cup games, we played difficult cup games, in the Champions League games, we had difficult games in the Champions League, this team has turned up with complete focus.

“I must say that this team is an absolute credit to the club with their attitude. They deserve success and therefore I hope that our crowd will be behind our team tomorrow.”
