Thibaut Courtois has ruled out the possibility of him joining Real Madrid this summer, insisting that he will eithier stay at Atletico Madrid or return to Chelsea.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who has been on loan at Atletico since joining Chelsea back in 2011, has seen himself linked with a big-money move to Real Madrid in recent weeks.

I’ve never spoken with Mourinho. At the moment Chelsea cannot guarantee me a place in goal

Courtois moved to Chelsea from Genk in 2011 and has won the Copa del Rey, Europa League and Uefa Super Cup during his extended stay at Vicente Calderon.

But the shot-stopper has moved to distance himself from a transfer to Los Blancos when his latest loan deal expires in the summer, and admits that he has not yet spoken to new Blues boss Jose Mourinho about his future.

“The talk about Real Madrid is only rumours, it is not true. The one thing I have always said is that it’s Atletico or Chelsea,” said Courtois.

“I’m very happy to be with Atleti, my desire is to play and if I can’t do that at Chelsea and I can continue here, I’ll be very happy.

“I’ve never spoken with Mourinho. At the moment Chelsea cannot guarantee me a place in goal because [Petr] Cech is there, he is playing well and is one of the best ‘keepers in the world.”
