Gary Neville has made a unique comparison when asked to pick his preferred winner between Premier League title favourites Liverpool and Manchester City.

The former Manchester United defender was asked to name his preferred title winner out of the Red Devils’s bitter rivals ahead of their top-of-the-table clash at Anfield on April 13.

In response, Neville said: “Choosing between City or Liverpool [to win the title] is like choosing which bloke nicks your wife.”

The former United defender went on to name City as slight favourites to lift the Premier League trophy for a second time, but admitted the Citizens are under more pressure than Liverpool.

“Man City should win it but Liverpool hve an incredible spirit and momentum,” Neville added.

“Tradition is difficult to stop. I have to say that game week on Sunday is massive game. City have got questions over them – they’ve got to win the title and the expectation is with them.

“All season Liverpool have been the fifth favourites. So in terms of this moment in time, they can play with less pressure. In this moment of time, I’d say City just.”
