David Moyes has hinted that he is planning to splash the cash in the summer to transform Manchester United back into title contenders next season.

The Red Devils returned to winning ways on Saturday after coming from behind to secure a 4-1 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

United’s struggles in Moyes’ first season in charge have been well-documented, with the defending champions failing to find consistent form throughout the campaign.

But Moyes is determined to find the adequate replacements to take the club up a level next term.

“When I came in I knew exactly what the task was going to be,” Moyes told BT Sport. “We have to build a team here.

“I’ve already got a very good team. I took over the champions from Sir Alex – it was a great team. But now it’s a time where we need to add to that.

“We looking to add to it. All the players I seem to talk to are really keen to join Manchester United so let’s home that comes to fruition in the summertime.”
