Ozil, Aguero and more: Twitter reacts as Arsenal hold Man City

Mesut Özil and Sergio Agüero both tweet their thoughts as Arsenal come from behind to seal a 1-1 draw against Manchester City

Mathieu Flamini scored the equaliser as Arsenal came from a goal down to hold Manchester City to a draw at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

City had taken the lead through David Silva mid-way through the first half but Flamini rifled home shortly after half-time to earn a point for the Gunners.

Saturday evening’s late kick-off prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite updates, in chronological order.

Injured Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey (@aaronramsey) cheers his team on before kick off: “Hope we get back to wining ways this afternoon. Great game to look forward to. COME ON YOU GUNNERS”

But celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) is not surprised as Silva gives the visitors the lead: “So predictable. This is men against boys. Physically & mentally. The day after my last big job ended, Arsenal beat Leicester 2-1 to become The Invincibles. None of this team would get in that team. #afc”

Former England international Michael Owen (@themichaelowen) is enjoying the spectacle: “Love watching City play. Them and Liverpool have been a joy to watch this season.”

Ex-Liverpool man Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) questions the Gunners’ tactical approach: “Arsenal. Why play the ball wide where you have 1 v 1 when you can try a one two around 8 City players…”

Injured Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil (@MesutOzil1088) is thrilled as Flamini fires home the leveller: “Yessssssssssss. “Come on gunners”

England legend Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) chimes in: “If Arsenal go on to win this the title race becomes ridiculously open.”

Golfer and Arsenal fan Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) is nervous: “Can Arsenal score a late winner. Nail biting.”

Morgan (@piersmorgan) is more philosophical after the full-time whistle: “Great game. We were poor 1st half, terrific 2nd half. Draw a fair result. #AFCvMCFC”
