Gerard Houllier says that Liverpool have the Premier League title race “in their hands” after Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Tottenham.
Brendan Rodgers’ side moved top of the table with six games left to play after a convincing victory over the north London club at Anfield.

And with Manchester City and Chelsea still to visit Anfield before the end of the season, Houllier feels that the Reds have their destiny in their own hands.
“They are six wins away from winning the league. The cards are in their hands, fortunately they play Chelsea and Manchester City at home and also Newcastle,” Houllier told talkSPORT.
“That means three games they could win and also the venues away from home are winnable games, there’s a good chance.
“I said that about a month-and-a-half ago, I said they’ve got a good chance to win it.”
Houllier also reserved special praise for Rodgers and the impact the Northern Irishman has had at Anfield since taking over back in 2012.
“You’ve got to praise him for the work he’s done and for the style of play he’s given to the team. Also the type of players he’s chosen. It’s his team, it’s his team, his own players,” Houllier added.
