West Ham 0 Man United 2: David Moyes hails the Red Devils' all-round display as Wayne Rooney goals seal victory
David Moyes hailed Manchester United’s all-round performance after watching Wayne Rooney fire his side to victory at West Ham United.
The England striker gave the visitors the lead at Upton Park in spectacular fashion when he volleyed home from just inside the Hammers’ half in the eighth minute.

And Rooney then made the points secure when he tapped in from close range in the 33rd minute to seal a win which keeps Moyes’ men in seventh place in the Premier League table.
The victory came on the back of Wednesday’s 3-0 Champions League win over Olympiacos – and Moyes was delighted by his side’s overall performance.
“The disappointing thing is that we didn’t take more of the chances we made,” Moyes told Sky Sports. “I thought we played really, really well, especially in the first half.
“I was a little bit worried when we missed those opportunities, how it was going to be, but we deserved the victory – and it was a wonder-goal.
“It was a brilliant goal – great technique. He’s a player who’s capable of doing all those sorts of things on a football pitch. It was like David Beckham’s goal.”
Moyes added: “The midweek result gave us a lot of confidence and I thought the way the team passed it and played today just backed that up.”
