Aaron Ramsey important to Arsenal, declares Olivier Giroud
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud hails the return of Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey to first-team action
Olivier Giroud has hailed Aaron Ramsey’s return to the Arsenal first-team ahead of their clash against Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Wales international scored in a 3-1 victory over Hull City last weekend as the 24-year-old made his first Premier League start since December.
He’s in amazing form, he’s in really efficient form in front of goal
Ramsey has scored nine goals and made eight assists this season, and Giroud is happy to have the midfielder and Mesut Ozil available again.
“We were waiting to get some players back so it’s always nice to see them back in good form,” Giroud told Arsenal’s website.
“Aaron is important right now, I think. [With] Mesut, we will need him again and maybe he will need another full game to feel pretty good on the pitch.
“But Aaron played a great game at Hull, he’s in amazing form, he’s in really efficient form in front of goal. We will need everyone from now until the end of the season and it’s good news for us.”
Arsenal can move four points clear of fifth-placed Everton after the Toffees suffered a surprise 2-0 loss to Southampton on Saturday.
But France striker Giroud warned Arsenal that they can’t be complacent in the race for a fourth-place finish.
“We know that Everton will be here until the end so we just have to keep focused on our performance and our game,” Giroud said.
“We know that if we win every single game… then we have the destiny in our own hands. We have to do the job and win these games.”
