Arsenal hungrier than ever for top-four finish, says Aaron Ramsey
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey says the Gunners are desperate to finish in the top four this season
Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal are “hungrier than ever” to secure a Champions League spot.
The Gunners are a point ahead of fifth-placed Everton, who face Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday before the north London side take on Newcastle United on Monday.
We are hungrier than ever to get this
And the Wales international revealed that the Arsenal squad are relishing the testing end to the season as Arsene Wenger’s side bid to qualify for the Champions League for the 17th successive season.
“We are hungrier than ever to get this, the Champions League, to get into that again – this is where we want to be,” Ramsey told Sky Sports News.
“That is where the players want to play and test themselves and that is no different this season, to finish the job off and get back in for next season.”
Ramsey made a goal-scoring return from injury in the Premier League as the 24-year-old scored in a 3-0 victory over Hull City last weekend.
The Wales international has scored nine goals and made eight assists this season, and the PFA young player of the year nominee is thrilled with his form.
“I have been really satisfied, one of the main things from the season before was to be a lot more composed in front of goal and I think I have managed to do that and put a lot more chances into the back of the net,” Ramsey continued.
“It is nice to hear other people have noticed, I voted for [Daniel] Sturridge for young player or [Eden] Hazard? One of those two. The main award I voted for Suarez, he has been unbelievable this season.”
