Arsenal transfers: Freddie Ljungberg wants Gunners to spend big
Arsenal transfers: Freddie Ljungberg believes the Gunners must spend to keep "getting better and better"
Freddie Ljungberg has called on Arsenal to spend heavily this summer to allow the Gunners to keep getting “better and better”.
The north London smashed their club-record fee after snapping up Mesut Ozil in a £42.4m deal from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day last summer.
If we can keep on doing like we did last summer, then we can keep getting better and better

Ljungberg believes the Germany international’s arrival helped lift the whole club, with the Gunners set to face Hull City in the FA Cup final.
And the former Swedish star believes Arsene Wenger must match last summer’s spending to improve the squad during the off-season.
“It is special to win your first trophy, and important. People talk about a winning mentality, and that does not come from just one trophy,” Ljungberg told Sport360.
“The boys are all hungry, and I definitely think they can win the FA Cup. The buy of Mesut Ozil made all the other players raise themselves. They felt more belief than the previous season.
“They had sold players to Barcelona and Manchester City before, now they had signed someone for £42.4m from Real Madrid. If we can keep on doing like we did last summer, then we can keep getting better and better.”
