Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger insists that the north London club are already working "very hard" on new deals

Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal are already “working very hard” on finding the right players to bolster their squad in the summer.

Much has been made of the north London club’s lack of cover in certain positions this season after their title bid came to a stuttering halt last month.

Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for Schalke starlet Julian Draxler during the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

The Gunners have also been reported to be tracking on-loan QPR striker Loic Remy with a view to a potential summer transfer.

And the Arsenal boss has revealed that the club are working on potential deals “every day”.

“We do spend time on next season, we are really focused and working very hard,” said Wenger. “Every day we spend time on that.”

Wenger, whose side are currently fifth in the table and two points behind fourth-placed Everton, also backed the Gunners to secure Champions League qualification.

“It’s vital to me to make the top four,” he said. “I want this club to play in the Champions League.

“What will be an advantage is our desire to play in this competition because we love the Champions League and just to imagine how much we love it will help us to achieve it.”
