Arsene Wenger: Arsenal will bounce back in the FA Cup

Arsene Wenger is certain that Arsenal have what it takes to beat return to winning ways against Wigan in the FA Cup

Arsene Wenger is convinced that Arsenal will bounce back from their poor Premier League form by reaching the FA Cup final next weekend.

The Gunners have won just one game in their last six top-flight outings, with Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Everton dealing a severe blow to their hopes of a top-four finish.

We have to come back to much better quality than we produced at Everton

Arsenal take on Wigan at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday as they look to end the season with some silverware – and Wenger is certain that his side have what it takes to make it through to the final.

“Once you are in the semi-final you want to go through to the final,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“To play in a different competition will help us find confidence back and focus on our next game.

“We have to acknowledge that we must go back to basics and come in much stronger in the challenges, much stronger in the way we win the ball back, before we start winning games.

“At the moment I feel it is important to focus on the quality of our game before we dream of where we finish [in the league].

“We have to come back to much better quality than we produced at Everton.”
