Arsene Wenger has admitted that talks with Bacary Sagna over a new Arsenal contract have stalled and said that it is up to the defender to decide where his future lies.

The France international right-back is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium in recent months.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have both been touted as possible destinations for the 31-year-old defender.

And Wenger conceded on Friday that talks over extending Sagna’s current deal are not moving forward.

“At the moment they [talks] are not progressing,” said Wenger.

“We know what we want from him, he knows what is on the table and that’s where we are.

“The ball is not in our camp anymore, it is in his camp, and he needs to come back to us.”

Sagna has made 32 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring one goal and making two assists.
