Blanc gives latest injury update on Ibrahimovic ahead of Chelsea tie
Paris Saint-Germain Laurent Blanc says Zlatan Ibrahimovic will need "some rest" after picking up a hamstring injury on Wednesday
Laurent Blanc has admitted Zlatan Ibrahimovic will “require some time of rest” after the Paris Saint-Germain striker picked up an injury in a 3-1 victory over Chelsea.
The Sweden international was forced off the pitch with PSG leading 2-1 at Parc des Princes after Ezequiel Lavezzi and a David Luiz own goal had put the Ligue 1 champions in charge.

Belgian forward Eden Hazard had levelled from the penalty spot in the first half, but PSG substitute Javier Pastore gave the French side a huge boost when he netted a late third.
However, Blanc will still be sweating on Ibrahimovic’s fitness ahead of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday.
“He felt some pain in his muscle, we’ll check in detail tomorrow. It’s an injury that will require some time of rest,” Blanc told French TV.
Blanc added that PSG’s third goal could prove decisive in the tie ahead of the return leg in west London.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to concede in the last minute. It would’ve been different at 2-1, with an away goal. We’re aware that 3-1, it will still be a difficult game over there.
“For the second leg Chelsea will have to attack and we might have some opportunities to play on the counter attack. It will be an exciting game but quite a difficult one over there.”
