Champions League draw: Pep Guardiola wary of Chelsea threat
Pep Guardiola says Chelsea have "many qualities" as his Bayern Munich side prepare for Champions League draw
Pep Guardiola admits that Chelsea have “many qualities” as his Bayern Munich side prepare to discover who they will face in the Champions League semi-finals.
The Blues will be pitted against either holders Bayern, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the last four of Europe’s elite club competition in Friday’s draw at Uefa’s headquarters in Nyon.
Chelsea have a manager with a lot of experience
And Guardiola, whose side knocked Manchester United out of the competition in the quarter-finals, says that Jose Mourinho’s side will pose a threat to any team.
“Chelsea have a manager with a lot of experience,” said Guardiola.
“They are an English team with many qualities and experienced players like Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry and Frank Lampard.”
Chelsea booked their place in the last four after a 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge sent them through on away goals.
