Daniel Sturridge: Joining Liverpool was an easy decision
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is hoping to help the current Reds side add to the club's rich history
Daniel Sturridge has insisted that joining Liverpool was an “easy decision”.
The England international has been a revelation since completing a £12m move to the Reds in January 2013.
Hopefully we can make some [history] of our own
Sturridge has scored 24 goals in 27 Premier League games this season to help fire Liverpool to the top of the table.
And the former Chelsea striker is hoping Brendan Rodgers’s side can add to Liverpool’s rich history.
“When Liverpool came calling it was an easy decision to make. No one had to tell me about the club, I knew all about it. No one had to sugar coat it for me to come here,” Sturridge told Liverpool’s website.
“Being here is me being part of the club, it has rubbed off on me. I knew about Liverpool before I moved here, they’re one of the biggest clubs in England and one of the biggest teams in the world.
“I knew all about them watching the trophies that they have won and it is great to be a part of all that now. Hopefully we can make some [history] of our own.”
Sturridge has scored 34 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions after swapping Chelsea for Liverpool in 2012.
