David De Gea can become a Manchester United great, according to goalkeeping coach Chris Woods
David De Gea has all of the needed ingredients to develop into a Manchester United legend, according to goalkeeping coach Chris Woods.
The Spain international has been one of the Red Devils’ most consistent performers in recent months after initially struggling to find form following his transfer to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
David has reacted well to the early flak he suffered from some critics
And Woods believes that the 23-year-old has the potential to emulate former United stars Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sar between the posts.
“He has the calmness necessary to cope and the reading of the game and he is gaining so much experience,” Woods told the Manchester Evening News.
“He can become one of the best. He really has done fantastic. He has all the elements to be one of the best.
“It has been a huge thing for David come to England and to United. His first season was difficult apparently but he has grown through that.
