David Moyes inherited a mess of a squad, claims former Man United star
David Moyes inherited a mess of a squad from Sir Alex Ferguson, according to former Manchester United midfielder Eamon Dunphy

Eamon Dunphy has claimed that David Moyes inherited a mess of a squad from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
The 50-year-old Scot was sacked by the 20-time English champions, 10 months after he took charge of the Red Devils.

Moyes leaves United languishing in seventh place in the Premier League table and without Champions League football next season.
And former United midfielder and ex-Republic of Ireland international Dunphy feels Ferguson was like the grim reaper attending the Red Devils’s matches.
“He became Manchester United manager not because of a trophy haul or glittering CV, but because Alex Ferguson wanted him to be Manchester United manager,” Dunphy wrote in his Irish Daily Star column.
“Yet Moyes never escaped his predecessor’s shadow.
“He’d inherited a mess of a squad from Ferguson and it didn’t help his cause that the Glaswegian kept turning up at games.
“It was Ferguson who did an impression of the Grim Reaper at Old Trafford long before Paddy Power’s stunt on Sunday.
“More often than not, the really successful clubs have suffered once the man who led the charge headed for the exit door.”
