David Seaman has issued his backing for Arsene Wenger, describing the Arsenal boss as a “great manager.”

The Frenchman has found himself under increasing pressure in recent weeks after a run of just one Premier League wins in six games dropped the north London side down to fourth in the table.

I know some fans are going crazy but if we win the FA Cup and get in the top four, that looks like a great season

Wenger, whose current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, is yet to commit his future to the club by signing a new deal.

But former Arsenal goalkeeper Seaman has suggested that Wenger is still the right man to take the club forward.

“There are more and more people coming up to me saying it is time that he [Wenger] left. But, for me, he is a great manager,” Seaman told talkSPORT.

“I know some fans are going crazy but if we win the FA Cup and get in the top four that, on paper, looks like a great season for Arsenal.”

Arsenal take on Wigan Athletic in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.
