Demba Ba lifts lid on Chelsea’s ‘plan’ to stop Liverpool

Demba Ba has revealed that Chelsea travelled to Liverpool intent on keeping the Reds from scoring early on after their 2-0 victory at Anfield.
The Senegal striker netted the opener for the Blues at Anfield after capitalising on Steven Gerrard’s mistake on the stroke of half-time, before substitute Willian scored a second at the death to dent Liverpool’s title hopes.

And Ba has lifted the lid on how Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho set up his team to keep the Reds at bay on Merseyside.
“We always have a plan, you don’t just go out on the pitch and play the way you want to play, you always have a plan,” said Ba.
“[For this match] it was to prevent them from scoring in the first few minutes because we’ve seen with every game they play at home they rush out and score goals.
“We had to prevent them from doing that, which we did in the first 15 to 20 minutes. Because of the way we play it’s difficult for the other team to score.”
Liverpool are currently still two points clear at the top of the table but Manchester City can move above them on goal difference if they win their game in hand.
