Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer hails Brendan Rodgers's "fantastic" man-management skills
Jason McAteer has hailed Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers’s “fantastic” man-management skills.
The Northern Irishman’s Red side are currently two points clear of second-placed Chelsea in the Premier League title race after a 4-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
He is very accommodating when you talk to him. He invests time in you and it is really nice and you know it is not false

The 41-year-old has managed to kick-start Daniel Sturridge’s career and keep Luis Suarez happy this season, with the pair scoring a combined 49 Premier League strikes.
And McAteer, who spent four years at Anfield in the 1990s, believes Kenny Dalglish’s successor Rodgers is a down-to-earth manager.
“I’ve known Brendan for a long, long time through playing because he is my age so I played against him and met him a couple of times,” McAteer told Newstalk.
“Obviously he got an injury and decided to go into the coaching side of things. He is more of a student of the game really.
“He has obviously seen the development in Spain and followed this around and worked under some good coaches, Mourinho being one of them.
“He knows how he wants to play, how to get that across, and judging by what he has done and the lads are saying, his man management skills are fantastic.
“I could know someone who could be completely different in the dressing room. What I know of him, he is a great fella to talk to and on the same level with everyone. What you see is what you get unlike some managers have done in the past that I’ve worked under.
“He is what he says he is on the tin. It is a down to earth fella who has a style of play and a player who can play that system.
“He is very accommodating when you talk to him. He invests time in you and it is really nice and you know it is not false.”
