John Terry insisted that a Liverpool win against Manchester City was the result Chelsea “were hoping for” after the Blues beat Swansea 1-0 to keep pace with the Premier League leaders.
Liverpool maintained their place at the top of the table thanks to a dramatic 3-2 win over the Citizens at Anfield.

And Demba Ba scored Chelsea’s winner as Jose Mourinho’s men kept to within two points of the Reds heading into the final four games of the season.
And Terry said: “We obviously knew it [the Liverpool score] and probably looking at the result it’s the one we wanted really, even though Liverpool are flying.
“But the manager said before the game, regardless of that result, if we don’t win our games we’ll make it very easy for them to.
“We’ve won our game and the pressure’s still on the teams above and below us.”
Chelsea travel to Anfield in a potential Premier League title decider on Sunday 27 April.
