Jose Mourinho could lose Chelsea dressing room, says Barca legend
Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff questions Jose Mourinho's continued criticism of his Chelsea players ahead of their PSG clash
Jose Mourinho could lose the Chelsea dressing room if he continues to criticise his players, according to Johan Cruyff.
The Blues boss was openly critical of his side’s sloppy defending after a 3-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
I saw how he lost the dressing room at Real Madrid and it is possible the same thing is going to happen at Chelsea
Mourinho has also found fault with his misfiring strikers this season, regularly underlining his desire to find a new finisher in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea, who are second in the Premier League, are bidding to overturn their first leg deficit when the Ligue 1 champions make the trip to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
And former Barcelona legend Cruyff reckons Mourinho is running the risk of losing his dressing room as he did at his previous club, Real Madrid.
“It’s the same old story,” the Daily Mail quotes Cruyff as saying. “When things go well it’s down to him and if they don’t it’s down to the players.
“I saw how he lost the dressing room at Real Madrid and it is possible the same thing is going to happen at Chelsea. To ask for a £58m striker, as if it were perfectly normal, is an attitude I have trouble understanding.”
