Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard trying to banish title thoughts
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard reveals he is trying not to think about a potential Premier League title triumph
Steven Gerrard has revealed that he is trying to put a potential Premier League title triumph out of his mind.
The 33-year-old Reds captain is close to finally ending his long wait to be crowned a Premier League winner.
It is important for myself and the players to try to not forget about the dream but try to park it up
The Reds are two points clear of second-placed Chelsea at the top of the table ahead of their trip to West Ham United on Sunday.
And Liverpool skipper Gerrard, who has scored 12 top-flight goals this season, is focused on six difficult games left in the season.
“It is flashing in and out of my mind from time to time, but I am trying to get it out as quick as it is going in because nothing has been achieved yet,” Gerrard told LFC TV.
“It is important for myself and the players to try to not forget about the dream but try to park it up, as dreams only happen when you get the job done and there are six hard matches still to play.”
