Liverpool have a slight advantage in the Premier League title race after Chelsea progressed to the Champions League semi-finals, according to Jamie Carragher.

The Blues booked their place in the last four after a 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain sealed a 3-3 aggregate win on away goals on Tuesday night.

Chelsea’s potentially title-deciding trip to Premier League leaders Liverpool is sandwiched between their Champions League semi-final clash.

I don’t think it harms Liverpool’s chances at all

And former Reds defender Carragher feels the Blues’s progress in Europe is a boost to Liverpool’s chances of ending their 24-year wait for a top-flight crown.

“It’s a slight advantage for Liverpool, as they play Chelsea in between the two Champions League games,” Carragher told Sky Sports News.

“They could pick up an injury, and may go to Anfield after of a Champions League away game. I don’t think it harms Liverpool’s chances at all.”

Liverpool are two points clear of second-placed Chelsea, whilst the Reds take on Manchester City at Anfield this Sunday.
