Lukas Podolski insisted Arsenal will take nothing for granted in their pursuit of qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The Gunners moved a step closer towards a top-four finish as Podolski’s double and Aaron Ramsey’s opener handed the north London side a comfortable 3-0 win at Hull City on Sunday.

We now look forward to our next game against Newcastle because every game is important

Arsenal remain in fourth place and a point clear of Everton, who beat Manchester United 2-0 at Goodison Park after the Gunners’ victory.

And Podolski told Sky Sports: “It’s important to get fourth place, but it’s important to go match to match.

“We now look forward to our next game against Newcastle because every game is important.”

Podolski’s double came from his unfavoured position on the left side of midfield but the Germany international said: “When you score the goals nobody speaks about where you play.

“The coach makes the decision where we play and it is just important to get the three points.”

Arsenal next face Newcastle United in the Premier League at Emirates Stadium on 28 April.
