Manchester City

Joe Hart Faultless for West Brom’s goal. The Manchester City keeper was solid after conceding. 6/10

Pablo Zabaleta An electrifying start to the game giving City the lead after just three minutes. The defender reacted fastest to head past Ben Foster. Constantly got forward whenever an opportunity arose. 7

Gael Clichy Took it in turns with his opposite full-back in getting forwarded. Seemed to coast through the game. 5

Fernandinho Filled the void left by Yaya Toure. Kept things simple but overall was a positive asset using his pace and strength to aid the City attack. 7

Vincent Kompany Gave a captain’s performance and was solid, making a few crucial interceptions. Got the assist for his header that reached Demichelis to prod the ball into the back of the net. 6

Martin Demichelis (man of the match) Did well to lose his marker and to get on the end of a corner to score City’s third. One of the best performances in the Sky Blue top for the Argentine, who was solid up until the final whistle and formed a good partnership with Vincent Kompany. 9

David Silva A joy to watch. The Spaniard produced moments of magic with this passing, movement and skill. Struck down by an injury just after the hour mark. Replaced by James Milner. 8

Javi García Did well protecting the defence and often won back possession for his team. 7

Sergio Agüero Inspired display. Produced a fantastic 22-yard strike 10 minutes into the first half to give City a 2-0 lead. Not at full fitness and replaced by Stevan Jovetic. 8

Edin Dzeko Not a memorable game for the striker, who had a few pop shots but nothing that really troubled Ben Foster. Replaced by Aleksandar Kolarov. 5

Samir Nasri A bit of a frustrating game for the Frenchman, who saw a lot of the ball but lacked any creative imagination to really threaten the West Brom defence. 5

Substitutes

Stevan Jovetic Only real moment was a snap shot just wide of the post. 5

James Milner Kept the ball well, ensuring the tempo was kept high. 5

Aleksandar Kolarov Failed to make an impact. 5

West Bromwich Albion

Ben Foster Should have done better with Sergio Aguero’s powerful shot, which led to City’s second goal. Blameless for the other two. 5

Billy Jones Struggled to get forward at times. Pushed back by City’s wave of attacks. The full-back was able produce a couple of decent crosses when chances to advance became more available. 5

Liam Ridgewell Poor marking and caught ball-watching during a corner, losing Demichelis, who went on to score. 4

Chris Brunt Got wide often but delivery into the box was poor. Wasted a good opportunity from a free-kick on the edge of the box. 4

Craig Dawson Found life difficult keeping with Aguero’s sneaky runs. 4

Martin Olsson A solid display individually. But the defence was unable to cope with the talent of the opposition. 5

Morgan Amalfitano A quiet day from a player who has impressed in the second half of the season. Sat too deep to really affect proceedings. Did, however, force Hart into a good save low to his left. 4

Youssouf Mulumbu Was often overrun by City’s attacks and failed to offer any real protection to his defence. Replaced by James Morrison. 4

Matej Vydra Applied the assist for Graham Dorrans’ goal but struggled with the strength and experience of Vincent Kompany and co. Replaced on hour-mark by Victor Anichebe. 5

Stephane Sessegnon Although the midfielder was determined with his runs, he was let down by his final pass and was often stripped of possession. Replaced by Beharihno. 5

Grahram Dorrans Showed great control and a wonderful touch to volley past Joe Hart for West Broms goal. Fizzled out as the game went on. 6

Substitutes

Victor Anichebe Control let the striker down after getting into some positive positions. 4

Beherahino Failed to make an impact. 5

James Morrison Failed to make an impact. 5
