Man City ready to pile pressure on Liverpool, warns Zabaleta

Pablo Zabaleta warns Liverpool that Manchester City will continue to pile the pressure on the Reds in the title run-in

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini

Pablo Zabaleta has warned Liverpool that Manchester City are determined to keep the pressure up on the Premier League leaders as the title race approaches its conclusion.

City can move to within three points of Brendan Rodgers’ side if they win their game in hand, with Liverpool set to host Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Citizens travel to Crystal Palace in their next top-flight clash on Sunday afternoon.

And Zabaleta is confident that City will continue to keep up the pressure on the Merseyside club.

“We still have four games to go until the end. It’s going to be tough, but we need to keep believing. We know in football that anything can happen,” said Zabaleta.

“We have put pressure on Liverpool. We now need to wait for Liverpool to drop some points, which they can do in some games. We must move on to the next game and get three points at Crystal Palace.

“Nothing is over. In football, you know anything can happen. The most important thing is to keep working hard, keep doing everything possible until the end and then we will see.”
