Stevan Jovetic believes Manchester City’s trip to Liverpool will “decide a lot of things”.

The Citizens, who have played two games less than the leaders, make the trip to Anfield as they look to cut Liverpool’s lead to a point at the top of the table.

The game against Liverpool will decide a lot of things, but even if we win that game there are more hard games to come

City haven’t beaten the Reds at their world-renowned stadium since former Liverpool striker Nicolas Anelka scored twice in a 2-1 win in March 2003.

And Montenegro international Jovetic wants the Citizens to move into pole position in the title race as soon as possible.

“We must believe we can win all seven games, because we can do what we want, but it is important that we are in pole position,” Jovetic told The Express.

“The game against Liverpool will decide a lot of things, but even if we win that game there are more hard games to come.

“This squad has a lot of experience because we won the Premier League two years ago. We know how to play and keep the pressure down, and Liverpool have more pressure – we are going to win.”
