Man United 4 Norwich 0: Ryan Giggs admits he enjoyed his first win as interim manager despite a sleepless Friday night
Ryan Giggs admitted he didn’t get any sleep on Friday night after the Manchester United interim manager mastermind a comfortable win against Norwich City.
27-year-old striker Wayne Rooney fired the Red Devils into a first half lead before half-time from the penalty spot, before curling an effort past John Ruddy in the 48th minute.
It was a difficult decision. Yes, I’m interim manager but I’m also one of their team-mates. It was tough

United interim manager Giggs introduced Juan Mata in the second half, and the club’s record signing scored twice in 10 minutes to wrap up three points for the Red Devils.
“I did enjoy it. 4-0 was a dream day for us. I’m really pleased with the performance,” Giggs told Sky Sports.
“It is always nice to end the game like we did. It looked like we were scoring goals and creating chances.
“Just the response of the players after the first half. I reminded them we needed to be quicker and up the tempo.”
Giggs revealed that he found it difficult to leave the likes of Mata out of his first side, praising the Spaniard’s cameo performance.
“I didn’t sleep last night for that reason. Leaving out players who weren’t even on the bench. Leaving Juan Mata out of the starting XI,” Giggs added.
“It was a difficult decision. Yes, I’m interim manager but I’m also one of their team-mates. It was tough.”
He continued: “I told them all individually before the game. Rightly so. Some of them were upset but they didn’t sulk or moan. Juan Mata came on and produced a great performance.”
