Man United players fighting for their futures, claims Darren Fletcher
Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher reckons the Red Devils are playing for their futures under David Moyes
Darren Fletcher admits the Manchester United squad are fighting for their futures under David Moyes.
The Red Devils were eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday night after a 4-2 aggregate loss to Bayern Munich in the last eight.
A lot of people will say there isn’t a lot to play for now, but there is – you are playing for personal pride and to be in the squad for next season
United are set to miss out on a top-four finish this season, with the defending Premier League champions a surprising seven points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
Moyes is expected to ring the changes during the summer transfer window, and Scotland international Fletcher is adamant that there is still plenty to play for.
“The boys have got to play well to stay in the manager’s thoughts for next season,” Fletcher said.
“There is talk of a lot of changes so if you get an opportunity to play, you have to go out there and perform and to show the manager that you want to be at United, that you are capable of being at United and you are good enough.
