Man United transfers: Edinson Cavani hints that he would be open to a move away from Paris Saint-Germain
Manchester United and Chelsea have been given a boost in their hopes of signing Edinson Cavani after the striker hinted that he could leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Uruguay forward has been linked with a big-money move to both Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge in recent weeks amid reports that he is unsettled in the French capital.
There are certainly things we must talk about with the club
And the 27-year-old has left the door open to a possible move away from the club.
“We’ll see at the end of the season. We have to finish the season first,” Cavani told L’Equipe.
“I am in Paris, but there are certainly things we must talk about with the club, things should be done differently.”
The forward also confirmed that Chelsea tried to lure him to west London before he eventually joined PSG from Napoli last summer.
“Chelsea were interested,” he said. “But the only thing that matters in the transfer window is spending money, just like Palermo did in 2009, Napoli in 2011 and PSG did last summer.
“I do not know [if my agent has met with United and Chelsea]. If something should happen, it’s my brother who will do it and will be at the table with interested parties.”
