Man United transfers: Luke Shaw happy to be linked with big clubs
Man United transfers: Luke Shaw is flattered to be linked with Chelsea and Red Devils, but is happy to stay at Southampton
Luke Shaw admits he is happy to be linked with Chelsea and Manchester United – but insists he is happy to stay at Southampton.
The 18-year-old left-back was named in the PFA’s Premier League team of the year after a series of eye-catching displays for the Saints this term.
I’m just focusing on the two games I’ve got left and then see what happens
Chelsea and United have both been linked with big-money moves for the England international in the summer transfer window.
However, Shaw is happy to stay at the south coast club despite the reported interest from two of the Premier League’s biggest sides.
“It’s a good thing to be linked with them, but I don’t concentrate with that stuff. I’ve got football to focus on. That’s my only thinking,” Shaw told Sky Sports News.
“(Southampton) is a great club, I’m still young and I’ve got plenty to learn. It’s all rumours. I’m just focusing on the two games I’ve got left and then see what happens.”
Shaw added that it was an unbelievable feeling to be voted into the PFA’s Premier League team of the year.
“It’s been unbelievable,” Shaw added.
“For me to be 18 and to have played 30-odd games in the Premier League is something I wouldn’t have even dreamed of when I was younger.
“And England was probably the best feeling of my life. So I’m going to keep pushing myself to become a better player.”
