Simon Kjaer has admitted that he is flattered to be linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

The Lille centre-half has been touted as a potential target for David Moyes’ side as United look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new season.

And the Danish defender has been pleased to see himself linked with a move to the Premier League side.

“It is of course always flattering to be linked with big clubs,” Kjaer told Danish newspaper BT.

“But I am not wasting my thoughts on rumours about other clubs.

“I am spending all my efforts and keep my focus entirely on reaching my goal that we will qualify for the Champions League next season.”

The 25-year-old has made 29 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille this season, notching up one assist in the process.
