Mauricio Pochettino leaves door open for Tottenham move

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino refuses to rule out possibility of moving to Tottenham this summer

Mauricio Pochettino has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Southampton to take charge of Tottenham this summer.

The Saints boss has been touted as a potential replacement for Tim Sherwood, who is reported to be unlikely to remain in the Spurs hot-seat next season.

Louis van Gaal is another name to have been heavily linked with the White Hart Lane job in recent weeks.

Is my future in England? Yes, yes, yes. I would like to be in the Premier League

And Pochettino has left the door open for a potential switch by revealing that he envisages staying in the Premier League for many more years.

“At the end of the season I will be speaking with the club [regarding a new contract],” said Pochettino. “Right now all possibilities are open.

“In football I am accustomed to living with these rumours, I have lived with them all my life.

“I am calm. I am focused on my job which is to get as many points as we can from the last five games.

“I don’t talk about rumours. I have one more year left on my contract and am focussed on my job.

“Is my future in England? Yes, yes, yes. I would like to be in the Premier League, it is the best in the world and I would like to be here for many years to come.”
