Mesut Ozil updates Arsenal fans on injury recovery

Mesut Özil returns to Arsenal training as he continues recovery from his hamstring injury

Mesut Ozil has revealed that he has returned to full Arsenal training after his month-long lay-off with a hamstring injury.

The Germany international has not featured for the Gunners since picking up the problem during the 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich on 11 March.

However, after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that the 25-year-old is due to make his return to the squad for Sunday’s trip to Hull, Ozil took to Facebook to update his fans on Wednesday afternoon.

Ozil wrote: “Finally training on the pitch again with my team mates. I’m doing fine and I’m looking forward to playing again soon. ‪#‎coyg‬”

Ozil’s post comes after Wenger revealed that Abou Diaby may not feature at all this season, despite the midfielder also returning to training this week.

“Abou is back in full training on Thursday,” said Wenger on Tuesday. “It’s very difficult to say [if he will play this season] because he has not played for over a year now, and it’s very difficult for me [to decide].

“He looks physically fine, but he has to play one or two games before I consider bringing him back.”
