Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirms that Petr Cech has been ruled out for the season with a shoulder injury

Petr Cech has been ruled out for the rest of the season after the Chelsea goalkeeper picked up a shoulder injury in Tuesday’s Champions League draw at Atletico Madrid.

The Czech Republic international was forced off in the 18th minute of the semi-final first leg after falling awkwardly and will not feature again for the remainder of the campaign.

Mourinho also confirmed that captain John Terry is facing a spell on the sidelines after he was substituted with a foot injury during the goalless draw.

“Petr Cech’s season over. Don’t ask me technically, but season over,” said Mourinho.

“And John – we have to play the [Champions League] final for him to play with us.”

Chelsea host Atletico Madrid in the second round of the semi-final clash at Stamford Bridge next Wednesday.
