Norwich 2 Liverpool 3: Three talking points as the Reds move five points clear at the top

John Ruddy Had no chance with the goals and was beaten by two deflections. 5/10

Steven Whittaker Lucky not to be booked for a foul on Flanagan but got forward well. 5

Russell Martin Limited Suarez to just the one goal and blocked off runs. 6

Michael Turner Struggled with Liverpool’s pace. Picked up a booking. 4

Martin Olsson Didn’t do much wrong but had his work cut out when Sterling was put out wide. 6

Bradley Johnson In the holding midfield position, stung Mignolet’s hands with a long-range drive but it was his misplaced pass that lead to Sterling’s second. 5

Jonny Howson Had a good battle with Gerrard but more often than not found the Reds’s captain to be a thorn in his side. 6

Leroy Fer Looked a little lost in the middle of the park at times. 5

Robert Snodgrass Scored a great header and always looked a threat. 7

Nathan Redmond Forced a few corners but did not get much luck against the Liverpool back four. 6

Gary Hooper Pulled a goal back for Norwich after Mignolet’s error. 6


Ricky van Wolfswinkel Had a golden opportunity to score but powered his header at Mignolet. 6

Josh Murphy The 19-year-old looked threatening when he came on. 7


Simon Mignolet Relatively unchallenged throughout the game but at fault for Hooper’s goal. 6

Glen Johnson Seemed to stroll through the match but forced Redmond backwards more often than not. 6

Martin Skrtel Usually the last line of defence but did not let anything past him. 7

Mamadou Sakho Got caught in possession and was lucky not to be punished. 6

Jon Flanagan Kept Snodgrass quiet. He failed to prevent Snodgrass’s header. 6

Steven Gerrard Another passionate performance, dictating the pace of the game. 7

Lucas Sat in the centre of the park but didn’t get forward too often. 6

Joe Allen Tireless running in midfield and always looked to break into the box. 7

Phillipe Coutinho Jinxed his way through the Norwich midfield time and time again. 7

Raheem Sterling (Man of the match) Scored an absolute screamer within four minutes and he showed great determination for his second. Also assisted Suarez’s goal. 9

Luis Suarez Struck a strong partnership with Sterling and got his obligatory goal against the Canaries. 7


Victor Moses– Acted as Liverpool’s main counter-attacking threat in the latter stages of the game. 6

Daniel Agger Brought on to sure up the defence and did his job well. 6
