Pellegrini gives latest Man City injury update ahead of West Brom game

Jesus Navas has joined Yaya Toure and David Silva on the Manchester City treatment table ahead of Monday’s clash with West Bromwich Albion, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.

The 28-year-old has been ruled out with an ankle injury, and the City boss confirmed that Toure and Silva remain sidelined for the game against the Baggies at Etihad Stadium.

“Yaya Toure, David Silva and Jesus Navas – the three of them are injured at the moment,” said Pellegrini.

“Yaya is improving but it is a muscle injury so it is difficult for him to be fit so soon.”

Meanwhile, Pellegrini also insisted that the title race is far from over, despite watching his team struggle to a 2-2 draw against Sunderland in midweek.

“I am absolutely sure that the teams will drop more points also, it can be Liverpool, Chelsea, the same way we drop points the last game,” he said.

“We have to play another 15 points. We will try to win the most amount of points and at the end of the season we will see which team wins the title.”
