Liverpool trio Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard have all be nominated for the 2014 PFA player of the year award.

All three players have been in sparkling form this season, helping Liverpool mount a late Premier League title challenge under Brendan Rodgers.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and Southampton’s Adam Lallana are the other nominees for the prestigious individual prize.

Suarez has scored 29 goals and made 12 assists in 29 Premier League games this term, while Sturridge has netted 20 times, setting up his team-mates on seven occasions.

Veteran midfielder Gerrard has scored 13 goals and made 10 assists for the Merseyside club.

Hazard and Sturridge have also been nominated for the young player prize along with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, Everton’s Ross Barkley, Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling.

PFA members from 100 clubs have been voting and the winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on Sunday 27 April.
