The Reds have the chance to move seven points clear of third-placed City with victory over their title rivals, who have played two games less than Brendan Rodgers’s side.
It’s about making sure we put in the performance that we want to and we do our jobs the best we can do this Sunday
The Belgium international endured one of his worst performances in an otherwise solid first season at Anfield as Liverpool suffered a 2-1 loss at Etihad Stadium in December.
However, Mignolet, who moved to Anfield in a £9m deal last summer, is banishing thoughts of that match from his mind and relishing the potential title decider.
“It’s a totally different picture when we play at home. With the support from the fans we can get the three points,” Mignolet is quoted as saying by Liverpool Echo.
“We take one game at a time and it’s why the next one is important. The one away from home against Man City – we won’t think about that when it’s kick-off time on Sunday.
“It’s about making sure we put in the performance that we want to and we do our jobs the best we can do this Sunday.”
