Steven Gerrard put Sky Sports’s Geoff Shreeves in his place after Liverpool were 3-2 winners against Manchester City at Anfield.

The Reds skipper was clearly emotional at the final whistle after Liverpool managed to hold on to secure a big win against their title rivals.

Gerrard gathered the Liverpool side into a huddle and delivered a rousing post-match rallying call as the Reds moved seven points clear of City.

When Shreeves asked Gerrard to reveal what he said to his Liverpool team-mates, the 33-year-old midfielder curtly replied: “None of your business.”

It prompted a flurry of activity on Twitter, too.

Liverpool had stormed into a 2-0 lead at Anfield thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling and Martin Skrtel in the opening 26 minutes on Merseyside.

However, City were level inside 17 second-half minutes thanks to David Silva’s strike and a Glen Johnson own goal before Philippe Coutinho scored a 78th-minute winner.

It left 33-year-old Liverpool captain Gerrard in tears at the final whistle.
