Emmanuel Adebayor is back in full training and could be set to feature in Tottenham’s clash with Sunderland next Monday, Tim Sherwood has revealed.

The Togo striker has been out injured with a heel injury and has not featured since the 1-0 defeat by Arsenal at White Hart Lane last month.

However, Sherwood is hopeful that the 30-year-old will be ready to face the Black Cats at White Hart Lane next week.

“It’s great to see him back out there,” Sherwood told Spurs’ website.

“We’ll continue to assess him as the week progresses and hopefully he’ll then be back in contention against Sunderland.

“He’s obviously been a big miss. He’s been outstanding for us.”
