Lewis Holtby says he is hoping to have a “long future” at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old has scored once and made three assists in 10 Premier League appearances following a loan move to Fulham from Spurs in the January transfer window.

I still believe I can do that. I have the qualities to play for Tottenham

The former Schalke 04 made the switch from north to west London in a bid to secure his place in Joachim Low’s squad for this summer’s World Cup.

And Holtby is expecting to return to Tottenham after the summer as he aims to make an impression at White Hart Lane following his £1.5m move in January 2013.

“I signed a long contract at Tottenham and I was hoping to have a long future at the club,” Eriksen told talkSPORT.

“I still believe I can do that. I have the qualities to play for Tottenham.”

Holtby also explained why he opted to move on loan to Fulham in the January transfer window.

“I was desperate to get some games,” Holtby added

“I hate being on the bench. I love playing football and expressing myself. Fulham gave me the chance to play high quality football in the Premier League.”
