Tim Sherwood says Tottenham Hotspur will address their interest in Romelu Lukaku at the end of the season.

The Belgium international has scored 12 goals and made six assists in 22 Premier League during a season-long loan at Everton.

Lukaku has been linked with Everton and Spurs in recent weeks amid reports parent club Chelsea may sell the forward this summer.

Asked about Lukaku, Sherwood told talkSPORT: “He is a player who signed at a young age for Chelsea.

“He’s had two good loan spells. Whether he will come here will be addressed at the end of the season.”

Everton manager Roberto Martinez addressed the topic of a permanent move for Lukaku on Friday.

“You need to understand there is going to be a lot of speculation and a lot of talk,” Martinez told his pre-match media conference.

“Romelu has been performing very well and you’re going to get that speculation.

“When you get a player who has been on loan and there is a little bit of uncertainty and he doesn’t perform well or reach certain expectations, then there isn’t much to talk.

“Romelu has been an incredible asset for us and a credit to his parent club. He has been developing as a young man and fulfilling his potential which I believe is huge.

“What we want now is him to concentrate on the next seven games to finish as strongly as we can. Whatever happens in the summer, it will be something good with the season that he has had.

“It can only be positive.”
