Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Everton clash
Arsene Wenger confirms that Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal are back in Arsenal squad for trip to Everton
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will return to the Arsenal squad for Sunday’s trip to Everton.
The Wales international has been out with a thigh injury since Boxing Day but returned to full training this week along with Nacho Monreal ahead of the crunch clash at Goodison Park.

Wenger, who also revealed that defender Laurent Koscielny remains sidelined with a calf problem, said on Friday: “Both [Ramsey and Monreal] will be back in the squad for Sunday. They are available.
“Aaron, of course, has been out for a long time and joined in [in training] yesterday. He will be in the squad. Koscielny is still out.”
He continued: “We have a slight problem with Kieran Gibbs, and Serge Gnabry will not be available. The squad should be stable compared to what it was against Manchester City. Gibbs has an ankle problem that he’s had for a while and Gnabry has a knee problem.”
The Frenchman is hopeful that Ramsey’s return to action can give his side a timely boost as the season reaches its climax.
“It’s a bit like that [having a new signing] yes because we have somebody back who can help the team to be successful,” Wenger continued.
“He’s an all-round midfielder who can score goals and drives the team forward always. He’s a real box-to-box player and it’s an area where we are short. Many [of our] midfielders are out so of course it’s good to have him back.”
And Wenger feels that it will take a couple of weeks for the 23-year-old to rediscover his top form for the Gunners.
“[It will take him] two or three weeks,” Wenger added. “He has worked very hard. What he lacks now is competition.”
