Wenger gives latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Newcastle clash
Arsenal have no new injury concerns ahead of Monday's clash with Newcastle, Arsene Wenger confirms
Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Monday, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
Defender Kieran Gibbs remains sidelined with the hamstring problem he picked up in the FA Cup semi-final against Wigan Athletic.
Thomas Vermaelen could be available again, but midfielder Abou Diaby is not fit after sustaining a minor groin problem playing for the Arsenal Under-21s earlier this week.
“Everybody available at Hull last week should be available [for Monday],” said Wenger.
“Thomas Vermaelen could be back, not Kieran Gibbs, not Abou Diaby.
“Diaby had a little groin problem after [Under-21] game so will not be available on Monday.”
Wenger also confirmed that midfielder Jack Wilshere is making good progress as he continues his recovery from a foot injury.
“Jack is progressing well,” added the Frenchman, whose side can take another step towards qualification for next season’s Champions League with victory over the Magpies.
