Wojciech Szczesny admits that he would “love” to be given the chance to make his first FA Cup final appearance of the season in next month’s final against Hull City.

Lukasz Fabianski has played in all of Arsenal’s FA Cup ties this term and was in impressive form during the semi-final against Wigan, saving two penalties in the 4-2 shootout win last Saturday.

But fellow Pole Szczesny, who has played in all 34 of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, is keen to be handed a chance in the Wembley showpiece.

“I would love to play but it’s the manager’s decision. It’s up to him,” Szczesny said.

“I think Lukasz has done really well and he deserves a lot of credit. I’m an Arsenal fan and I just want us to get the trophy.

“For us, it’s important to get a trophy and hopefully we can appease everyone at the club.”
