Zeki Fryers: Tottenham ready for big challenge at Stoke City
Tottenham Hotspur defender Zeki Fryers warns Spurs that it won't be easy securing a result at Stoke City
Zeki Fryers says Tottenham Hotspur face a big challenge against Stoke City as Spurs aim to secure their spot in Europe next season.
The 21-year-old centre-half partnered Younes Kaboul in the heart of the Tottenham defence as Tim Sherwood’s men were 3-1 winners against Fulham at White Hart Lane last weekend.
We’ve got a big challenge at the weekend and we’re looking forward to it
Tottenham have an outside chance of finishing in the top four, with a Europa League spot a more realistic prospect for the north London side after a turbulent season.
And Fryers, who joined Spurs from Standard Liege in 2013, warned Sherwood’s men that it won’t be easy securing maximum points at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.
“Obviously we conceded in the first half against Fulham in a disappointing manner but overall we were strong and stable as a team,” Fryers said.
“It was great to play alongside Younes again because he gives me advice and helps me during the game. He’s a lot more experienced than me so it’s good for someone of my age to be able to learn from him.
“Now we go to Stoke, who are a good side. They’re a strong team and I know from watching other clubs go there that it’s difficult to win there.
“They make it hard for opposing teams so we’ve got a big challenge at the weekend and we’re looking forward to it.”
The former Manchester United defender has made four Premier League appearances for Spurs.
